I live in Canada and, at that time knew few people in the US.  Now, thanks to my copywriter&#039;s life and social media, I have many friends there - personal and virtual.  Had I known them all then, the event, like the recent hurricane Irene, would perhaps have made it even more real to me than it was at that time.

I do remember 9/11 and its aftermath - where I was and what I was doing (walking to work and noticing the headline through a shop window).  I remember it just as I remember the explosion of the Challenger, the assassination of JFK  and Martin Luther King, the tsunami in Asia,  and many other such significant events that have happened during my lifetime.

With no disrespect to my American friends, I applaud your suggestion ... perhaps it is time to cross the bridge and move forward into all that lies ahead.  

And what lies ahead will, we know, be significant - both personally and on the outside - in this beautiful world that we share.</description>
